Tanya Cristina is a UK based singer-songwriter who writes and performs contemporary soul music with strong jazz, gospel and rnb influences. She believes that music can and should be honest and meaningful. Tanya released two singles in 2010 with a small, independent label before moving on to work on her own projects, including an EP that will be released in 2012. She is currently unsigned and without management

Tanya was born in London and grew up singing quietly at home for her family, and at school alongside her older sister. She began listening to women with big, belty voices like Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone as a teenager, when most of her friends were into boy bands. At the age of 15 she attended a series of weekly classes at the Soul Experience Vocal Academy, and singing quietly became a thing of the past! Tanya’s small stature, at just under 5 ft tall, has earned her the nick-name ‘small woman Big Voice’.

Tanya loves God, people, singing loudly, going to church, dancing like no-one’s watching and spending time with her family and friends. Tanya hopes her music will move, encourage and inspire others and is determined to walk with integrity in what is all too often a challenging industry.
